Just Because You Are Old!?

It's very bothering to me to hear from elder clients of mine about what their doctors and nutritionists tell them.


"Oh you are having pain because you are getting old"

"You are not able to sleep well because you are getting old"

"You are getting weaker because you are old"

"You are not able to eat more because you are old"


I don't know about you but if anybody tells me anything above I would immediately fire them. It is fault statement for any health and fitness professionals to limit the individual's capability because of their age.


I have 73 year old lady who can squat deeper than majority of 20 year old. I have 80 year old client who will be traveling the world this year. I see 76 year old client 3 times per week and she is active attorney for murder case. Worked with 90 year old gentlemen who got excited like teenager when I gave him heavier weight than before.


Then you see bunch of teenagers who has poor posture and 30 year old having medical conditions that are worst than their grandparents.


So what is my point here? Point is age is just a number and should never be a limiting factor to you.


Yes, recovery rate does slows down and speed my decrease. But you can still get stronger and healthier even when you get older. Yes, we all die some day but there is more people can do even as they get older, if they remain physically active.


Your body needs more healthy food and proper sleep even when you are older. It is ok for you to be lifting heavier weight and build muscles as long as you are doing it right.


Never limit yourself and keep going!
