How To Start Exercising

If you are new to exercising, you may be overwhelmed with so much information that is available. Once you start searching information on exercise and diet, you can spend hours and may not get any answers that you were searching for.

Enjoy the Exercise

Whether you are exercising for building strength or losing fat make sure to understand that it is a longer process to see the progress than what you hear or read online. Because of that, it is important to learn how to enjoy exercising.

If you feel uncomfortable going to the gym, you can always exercise at home. If you don’t have endurance to exercise for 45 minutes, start with 5-10 minutes.

Choosing your workout attire and water bottle can also help you create motivation to exercise. If you love listening to music creating your workout music list may also give an enjoyment.

Choose the Exercises

You may feel amazed to see what some people can do with exercises. Lifting heavy weights, doing pull ups, muscle ups and so on. However, you should also know that they also started the same way you have.

Initially, choose 3-5 exercises that you would like to do. Don’t worry about body parts and just choose 3-5 exercises. Don’t worry about the form at first. Do 10-15 repetitions and repeat for 1-2 sets on each exercise. If you feel that was easy, then you can increase repetitions, sets, or weight.

Recover Your Body

Learning what will happen to your body after exercising is also important. Is your body sore? Do you get feel fatigued? Or didn’t feel anything? Sometimes the effect may show after 48 hours. If the body is experiencing fatigue and aches for more than 72 hours, then you may have worked the body little too much, so lower the weight, reps, sets or number of exercises.

For frequency of exercises, start with 2-3 times per week. The frequency should be set according to your recovery from previous exercise. If you are not sure, start with 2 times per week with 2-3 days between sessions. When you get used to it, add 3rd sessions with 1-2 days in between sessions.

Exercising is time dedicated to you. Don’t get caught up in minor detail like perfecting form. Customize your exercise and your exercising environment so that you can focus on you, which is hard to come by nowadays. Exercising should be fun and getting strong, fit and healthy is awesome rewards that comes with it.
